Scroll to the Dates section of the window and select the Actual Start field. 

Until you enter any actual dates, MacProject II displays the task’s Earliest Start and Earliest Finish dates in the actual fields. Once you have entered at least one actual date, MacProject II calculates the rest of the actual dates in the schedule.
